Google: Ron Paul, Kim Kardashian more popular in New Hampshire than Romney

By Josh Peterson, DailyCaller.com

Polling data suggests that GOP presidential front-runner Mitt Romney is more popular in New Hampshire than the rest of the Republican field. But recent Google statistics indicate that Texas Rep. Ron Paul and even Kim Kardashian are piquing greater interest than Romney in the Granite State.

A recent RealClearPolitics polling average from Dec. 27, 2011, to Jan. 3, 2012, showed Romney crushing Paul, his closest competitor in New Hampshire, by a whopping 21.3-point margin. Romney governed the neighboring state of Massachusetts between 2003 and 2007.

But despite Romney’s polling advantage, Internet interest in Paul among New Hampshire residents — gauged using search statistics from Google Insights for Search — steadily increased from the beginning of January 2011 to the beginning of January 2012, maintaining a lead in user interest over Romney since early June 2011.

New Hampshire Internet users exhibited significantly more interest in Paul than Romney through December, with Paul-related search queries increasing exponentially throughout the month.

The Google data “analyzes a portion of Google web searches to compute how many searches have been done for the terms you’ve entered, relative to the total number of searches done on Google over time,” according to the company

The search engine also eliminates ”repeated queries from a single user over a short period of time, so that the level of interest isn’t artificially impacted by these type of queries.”

STILL a better ticket than Romney/???

That is so strange because Romney has TWICE as many positions to research as Paul has. On the other hand, someone as handsome as Romney doesn’t need to sell himself on his positions. He’ll win by acclamation for being such a swell-looking guy.

Polls can be skewed by anyone to say anything! Frankly, I agree with Senator Paul on most things! However, his foreign policy ideas are not only naive, but dangerous. To compare the leaders of Iran to those of the USSR is to say the least not backed up by reality! The USSR was run by people who disagreed with America, butt hey feared and respected Amerca’s power. Iran’s leaders are “mad men” and would send their own children to blow Americans without te slightest provacation or hesitation. The destruction of America is on their “to do list” because they hate the truth, freedom, an educated people, and our religion! I can not support Senator Paul in this regard. Isolatinism doesn’t work America tried it before World War II and it got us bombed in Pearl Harbor and our Navy practically destroyed along with 4000 Americans.

Joe, You need to stop regurgitating main stream media liws about ron Paul. His foreign policy is not dangerous. What is dangerous is that the current administration is about to wage war on Iran as we speak, and that might lead China and Russia into it too. THAT is dangerous!! His NON-INTERVENTIONIST foreign policy is what this country was founded on. You have very badly misstated Paul’s positions, and it’s sad so many people are uninformed about them. Ron Paul is personally opposed to abortion but believes it should be regulated by the states, not the federal government. He does not propose ending public education, but ending the federal Department of Education, something which is a relatively recent invention in our history (long after local public schools became the norm). He opposes the federal drug war on the basis not only of privacy rights, but because it has unfairly targeted minorities. He opposes capital punishment. He opposes federal regulation of marriage and is quite open to states allowing gay marriage. He has also been long opposed to banning gays from serving in the armed forces. He is exactly opposite to those on the religious right who want to impose via laws their religious views – he believes totally in religious freedom (as well as the right not to be religious). He is the only candidate openly to oppose the military-industrial complex (as well as being one of the few candidates who actually served in the military). He opposed the Patriot Act and the ever growing federal security apparatus. He is the only candidate who would end support for foreign governments (including Israel) and openly states his opposition to our long history of support for corrupt and repressive foreign dictators. He is the only candidate who is against any war of intervention and would limit war to a clear situation where the US is under threat, and would require Congressional approval before we go to war. He opposes monopoly crony capitalism (including bail-outs of Wall Street) and has publicly said that there must be regulations to prevent the elimination of competition.
