Ron Paul Challenges Herman Cain for 2nd in CNN/Time Poll of NH Republicans
2012 Elections, Headlines Thursday, October 27th, 2011From The State Column
Texas Congressman Ron Paul, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, is challenging pizza magnate Herman Cain for 2nd place in the latest CNN/Time poll of New Hampshire Republicans. Released on Wednesday, the CNN/Time poll gave Paul 12 percent of the votes for a third place finish. Cain garnered 13 percent of the votes for a 2nd place finish.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney finished in 1st place with 40 percent of the votes. Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, who held a “first in the nation” townhall in New Hampshire on October 18, is in 4th place with 6 percent of the votes. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich pulled in 5 percent of the votes for a 5th place finish. The rest of the GOP candidates, including Texas Governor Rick Perry, earned 4 percent or less of the votes.
Paul has campaigned hard in New Hampshire, which may be why he is challenging Cain for 2nd place in the latest poll from the Granite State. In a post-CNN/WRLC debate interview, Cain told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that he has campaign staff in New Hampshire. “We have a staff of about three people in New Hampshire, and we’re in the process of adding more people in New Hampshire,” Cain said. Although Romney is likely to win the New Hampshire primary, Paul and Cain could both benefit from a second place finish in the Granite State.
The fight for second place in New Hampshire may come down to who has more money to fund a campaign in the state. Paul raised $8 million in the 3Q 2011, according to CBS News. Cain, on the other hand, raised less than $3 million in the 3Q 2011.

much different than most other bias polls. I believe Paul is doing even better amongst All voters not just repubs, than anyone else.
I don’t know why Dr Paul doesn’t run as an Independant .?
To all the wonderful citizens of the great state of New Hampshire: please, “Live Free”! Ron Paul 2012!
This is Ron Paul’s chance to come in 2nd place. He has raised more money than Cain. Ron Paul has the best plan for Restoring America. His plan is on his website Ronpaul2012.com.
Obvious that there is a RP bias, and that’s too bad. Is it necessary to refer to Herman Cain as a “pizza magnate”? Why not refer to RP as “professional politician”?
Ron Paul has done what he has said. Others talk a good line but actual performance is difficult to question. Trust and honesty are very important.
