TSA begins random ROAD inspections in Tennessee

By Adam Ghassemi,NewsChannel5.com

PORTLAND, Tenn. – You’re probably used to seeing TSA’s signature blue uniforms at the airport, but now agents are hitting the interstates to fight terrorism with Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR).

“Where is a terrorist more apt to be found? Not these days on an airplane more likely on the interstate,” said Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons.

Tuesday Tennessee was first to deploy VIPR simultaneously at five weigh stations and two bus stations across the state.

Agents are recruiting truck drivers, like Rudy Gonzales, into the First Observer Highway Security Program to say something if they see something.

“Not only truck drivers, but cars, everybody should be aware of what’s going on, on the road,” said Gonzales.

  2. I will not live in fear. That is my oath and should be the oath of every citizen. But if you just want to be a resident serf …

Seriously, just promote common snese instead of fear. The latter is a trap, a noose, a slave collar. The former will set you free, and not burden society with endless rules and rediculous safeguards.

But like any other story, there will always be cowards and collaborators who will suppose — thinmking like they think — I would change my mind if another attack occurred. These people can live in pens if they want, so long as they stay out of the way of the rest of us..

  3. What about the FOURTH AMENDMENT?????? These people (TSA’s) are not police, soldiers, FBI, or CIA. They have no right to search my “persons, houses, papers, and effects, without probably cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
My rights are slowly and steadily being taken away by using fear tactics. Don’t fall for it people. Get those idiots in charge out of office ASAP!

  4. This is just wonderful. How long before they start pulling people over so they can touch their junk… remember driving is a privilege not a right…. so the government can do whatever they want…

The TSA is the only reason I refuse to fly anywhere inside the USA I have flown once since 9/11, and that was to catch a connecting flight out of the country for vacation, no one touched me, frisked me, or even questioned me in any of the airports overseas, but I felt raped in the USA…

  5. I know more police is like a police state, but i wonder is its the way to go… due to 35 encampment in the woods, of states, and only 21 are known for sure of who they are and what they do by police and christian alerts, and they are jihad training camps for women and men and children… and i saw one day a trailer truck with no plates, on rig or trailer, the trailer was painted kaki, and the cab plain yellow with no company name, or weight of either, and a man not in a uniform of say national guard for instance. I did wonder about that rig ?

  6. From Wiki, “A Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response team, sometimes Visible Intermodal Protection and Response, (VIPR, or VIPER), is a Transportation Security Administration program. Various government sources have differing descriptions of VIPR’s exact mission. It is specifically authorized by 6 U.S.C. § 1112 which says that the program is to “augment the security of any mode of transportation at any location within the United States”. Authority for the program is under the Secretary of Homeland Security. The program falls under TSA’s Office of Law Enforcement[1]. TSA OLE shares responsibility for the program with the Office of Security Operations and TSNM.[2]
The VIPR teams detain and search citizens at railroad stations, bus stations, ferries, car tunnels, ports, subways, truck weigh stations, rest areas, and special events.[3][4][5][6][7] They also can deploy to deal with CBRNE/WMD (chemical, biological, radioactive, nuclear, and explosive weapons of mass destruction)[8] They also do inspections of ships, containers, and vehicles. [9]”

Ron Paul is the only candidate stating he would get rid of the TSA and repeal the Patriot Act. Ron Paul 2012!

  7. My Grandfather told me the same thing about the FBI. The FBI was created to investigate interstate crimes, nothing else. They had no arresting powers and they could not carry firearms. Two years later that all changed. They gave them weapons and arresting powers. Boy were the people pissed off. It seems that we the people are not doing anything about the gestapo and their over reaching power grab.
