Herman Cain Gets Tea Party Boost in NJ, Some Say They Also Like Romney
2012 Elections, Breaking News, Headlines Thursday, October 20th, 2011By Brian Thompson | NBCNewYork.com
Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has picked up some early support from two tea party groups in New Jersey.
The Bay Shore Tea Party group and Jersey Shore Tea Party announced Wednesday at a news conference in Middletown, N.J., that their combined 1,500 members voted for Cain by an “overwhelming” margin.
“Our groups have researched the platforms of the various Republican candidates and came to the conclusion Herman Cain is the one candidate who represents the values of the tea party movement,” said Barbara Gonzalez, of the Bay Shore Tea Party.
Gonzalez said no one in her group voted for the front-runner Mitt Romney. Mark Falzon of Jersey Shore Tea Party said Romney got a handful of votes from his members.

The Tea Party in now indistinguishable from the GOP. Congrats to the GOP, they’ve co-opted the movement.
Cain is supposed to be anti-establishment? Really? The same Fed shill who wants to saddle us with a sales tax _as_well_as_ an income tax? The same one who suggested that those concerned about the Fed’s “bailing out” (read stealing for) their banker puppet-masters to the tune of trillions should just call their local Fed branch and ask what’s up? That Cain?
The Tea Party sold out and no longer represents its origins. what a shame. KC Federal Reserve Chairman, come on….WTF
Anyone can call themselves the TEA party and when they do, the media loves to show the world that they are just Neo-cons in Conservative clothing…
Too bad most people reading the lame stream media news don’t know the difference !
The early tea partiers should have drawn up a platform and instituted some sort of internal education. Now the tea party is filled with know-nothings who think Romney and Cain are wonderful.
MJ-you’ve got it backwards. The TEA Partiers have worked to pull the moderate GOP back to their original platform. That GOP platform is very close to what the TEA Partiers support. Our local GOP committee now has more TEA Partiers on it than moderate GOP-ers. Hmmm, wonder how that happened?
The TEA Partiers haven’t sold out. Most of us are still laying back in the weeds quietly doing TEA Party stuff. Don’t think for a minute that TEA Party Express or TEAPartyPatriots.org represent all of us. They don’t, but appointed themselves as our figurehead “leaders” and are recognized by the media, that same media that is confused about so many things. Most of the TEA Partiers are just as independent as when we organized our groups two years ago.
As to the GOP candidates, Perry, Romney, Gingrich are, at best, moderates and too far left for TEA Partiers. I think Ron Paul is no more viable as Pres for 2012 than he has been in past years. That leaves Santorum, Bachmann, and Cain. Santorum lacks the charisma to get elected, and while Bachmann is a conservative, as a Minnesotan I think she’d be more effective in Congress. That leaves us with Cain.
When it comes to the Fed, I think Cain would bow to public pressure to have the Fed independently audited. Regarding the 9-9-9 Plan, the 9% income tax would replace not only your current income tax but also the payroll taxes. The 9% sales tax would eliminate the hidden taxes you currently pay. Don’t know what those are? Check this to find out:

Romney’s nothing but a RINO just like McCain was.
Aren’t you tired of voting for the lessor of two evils knowing they’ll NEVER EVEN ATTEMPT to correct our nations problems even if they had a clue about much of anything?
Don’t blame the unskilled off the street who run for office since their options in life are limited, blame yourselves. For decades your vote has CAUSED our downfall both financially and morally.
