Two clear winners in GOP debate: Gary Johnson and Ron Paul
2012 Elections, Breaking News, Headlines Friday, September 23rd, 2011By Karl Dickey, West Palm Beach Libertarian Examiner
Last night’s Fox News / Google GOP debate televised live from Orlando, Florida allowed the public to see a full range of Republican candidates vying to be our next President of the United States. Surprisingly, late last night and early this morning the mainstream media seems interested in flipping the results of the debate around to Perry and Romney when the two clear winners of the Fox News poll clearly shows Ron Paul and Gary Johnson the winners of the debate by a wide margin. Ironically, these are the two most libertarian candidates in the entire field.
On stage were Gary Johnson, Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Michelle Bachmann. But to watch the news or read the online papers early this morning would almost suggest it was the Rick Perry & Mitt Romney show.
Johnson and Paul win the debate, however the media disregards them. Is it because they are offering specific detailed solutions? Is it because the media doesn’t want them in the White House? Is this an organized effort to keep libertarian ideas from getting too much exposure?
If one missed the debate and did read something about Gary Johnson’s performance in the debate, they may only have heard of his great line about his neighbor’s dog which everyone in the crowd enjoyed immensely. His line was, “My next door neighbor’s two dogs have created more shovel ready jobs than this president.”

There is no doubt that Johnson and Paul won the debate, although the media gave more time and attention to Romney and Perry. When the media tries to push those who reflect their views while silencing others who reflect a more sensible approach to what is best for the country….
It was qiuite clear that Paul and Johnson would make the perfect team to serve the county’s best interests and welfare…
Correct! The establishment status quo will do anything to stop Americans from hearing the message of liberty, freemarkets and legalizing the constitution. Stop having pundits and so called “experts’ in the media select your candidates for you. None of them can think better then you! The MSM, owned by the money power will only hold up those candidates “TA DA” who will not upset their apple cart (to our doom). Well I joined the Tea Party to upset that apple cart, thank you. We need a revolution and Ron Paul’s is the best one around! If you haven’t really researched him please, please do…see what kind of man he is and always has been. He has been right on all counts to date. He is only unelectable is you choose not to vote on principles…and on, what you believe to be, pragmatism…pragmatism got us where we are today. Lets stop this bad habit now!

Ron Paul 2012
I agree with most of what these two candidates had to say. However, we CANNOT shut ourselves off from what is going on around us.
HERMAN CAIN is the best conservative candidate on social, fiscal, and national security issues. He would be awesome in a debate with Barack Obama. How could the MSM dare to call him a racist as he attacks Socialist Obama’s policies? Cain would have a broad appeal across the whole electorate for the general election. Read up on his 9/9/9 economic plan. How could Tea Party conservatives continue to support Ron Paul after he has announced that he would consider appointing Denis Kucinich, a Socialist, to his cabinet? Paul might be good for Sec’y. of the Treasury, but not president.
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE Joanne. Go Herman!!!!!!
Didn’t know there was a Department of Peace….or a Secretary of the Peace~!
Joanne, Mr. Cain has a nice pitch but i will warn that he is a former Fed chairman of the Kansas Fed reserve bank. His additional tax upon consumption on top of income and corporate tax sounds nice now but wait until it is rasied by future congresses to 20 percent for each. We wont be very happy then I assure you. Don’t get caught by todays promises, look at the future consequences of todays actions.
Chris, you are wrong. Obviously you have not been paying attention. Herman Cain has explained his tax structure in great detail.
Pull up his videos on the different issues on You tube. Listen carefully. He explains everything he has been talking about in great detail. He is the only one that can be trusted that has given in depth details.
I agree that the people voted them the winners and that the media is scared of them but we need to watch out that the media is attempting to piss us off enough that Paul and Johnson might run as the libertarian party candidates and help reelect Obama by drawing their support out of the Republican Party. At the same time, the Republicans better listen up unless they really want Obama again. If the silk stocking Republicans want to remain stuck up and their noses in the air – get ready for another four years of Obama.
Most of main stream media is controlled by Wall Street, so of couse they would intentionally overlook Paul and Johnson. Paul and Johnson would be the vaccuum cleaners to Wall Street dirt, and the true auditors of the Fed Reserve. Wouldn’t that be a turnaround for the U.S. to finally get the foxes out of the hen house. But isn’t this all a moot point—it appears the electronic voting dictates the winners, and Wall Street has control of the switch.
