GOP candidate Ron Paul would abolish TSA

By James Oliphant | The Los Angeles Times – Washington Bureau

As reports surface that U.S. officials are concerned about terrorists smuggling explosives into the U.S. within their bodies, one presidential candidate would do away completely with the government agency charged with screening passengers.

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, a libertarian, would instead privatize airline security. In his weekly “Straight Talk” telephone address last weekend Paul said the agency infringed on privacy rights of passengers while doing little to keep the nation safe.

‘Ninety-five year-old women humiliated; children molested; disabled people abused; men and women subjected to unwarranted groping and touching of their most private areas; involuntary radiation exposure,” Paul said. “If the perpetrators were a gang of criminals, their headquarters would be raided by SWAT teams and armed federal agents. Unfortunately, in this case the perpetrators are armed federal agents. This is the sorry situation 10 years after the creation of the Transportation Security Administration.”

Paul called the treatment of passengers at the hands of the TSA “appalling” and “abusive” and said he would introduce legislation in the House to ensure agency screeners were not exempt from laws prohibiting unlawful touching of the body and invasive picture-taking.

Wonder who will attack him for this? My guess is that the GOP neoCons will. IMO, this plus other liberty issues Ron Paul is rasining wilkl win him many votes of the Democrats who hate infringements on individual liberty.

  3. The wonderful thing about Ron Paul is you never have to guess what his policies would be. Once you understand that he respects everyone as individuals and is against the government use of force its nearly impossible to turn a blind eye. He has earned and deserves my vote in 2012 through his career of consistency.

  6. The sad truth is in the remote chance that we would be so lucky to have RP as POTUS and he abolished the TSA the evil forces within our own system would make sure something terrible would happen to prove once and for all “we” all “need” the Feds to protect us and feed us and be our mommy and daddy.

The sad truth is there is just too much money, power, and control by just a small group of people who will never let it go, and fear is the key. That is why they want to destroy Christians who only fear God.
It will never stop. There is just too much money, power, and control by too small of a group of people. They will never let it go.
