FDA Says: Drinking This Natural Food is a Crime

On May 16th, Representative Ron Paul asked,
“If we are not even free anymore to decide something as basic as what we wish to eat or drink, how much freedom do we really have left?”
Paul was talking about the FDA ban on the interstate sale of raw milk for human consumption — milk that has not been pasteurized. The ban began in 1987, but the FDA didn’t really begin enforcing it seriously until 2006 — when the government began sting operations and armed raids of dairy farmers and their willing customers.
The New American reports:
“Even if the FDA were correct in its assertions about the dangers of raw milk, its prohibition on interstate raw milk sales would still be, as Paul termed it, ‘an unconstitutional misapplication of the commerce clause for legislative ends’ …
Saying he is ‘outraged’ by the FDA’s raids on peaceful dairy farmers and their customers, Paul has introduced legislation … ‘to allow the shipment and distribution of unpasteurized milk and milk products for human consumption across state lines,’ in effect reversing the FDA’s unconstitutional ban on such sales.”
The “Food Safety Modernization Act” that was enacted earlier this year gives the FDA almost unlimited authority to decide if food is harmful, even without credible evidence. But farmers who have been persecuted by the FDA for selling raw milk, like Amish Farmer Dan Allgyer, are not backing down. Allgyer’s case is going to court.

I recently tasted raw milk for the first time. It is so delicious that for the first time in my life, I actually loved the taste of milk. Why in the world have we been forced to drink that pasteurized swill all these years? What business does the FDA have telling us that we are criminals for selling or drinking this natural product? What is their next campaign — arrest all the cows? Are they going to ban breast-feeding too? Let’s save some money and ban the FDA.
Yes. Thank you former president Ronald Reagan. This confirms the stories I have been told by farmers back then. Today you cannot mention anything that was done wrong about Reagan, but it did happen. Reagan started two bad domestic agendas that we have suffered from ever since. Regrettably one of them probably would have been done by Ron Paul, but I feel Ron Paul might have done something to help smooth it out.
Reagan put an end to regulation of some industries, the biggest were air travel and trucking. When the trucking industry was deregulated, it was like bringing in illegal or undocumented or whatever politically correct term you want to use workers, to do the work. It put big corporations out of business and hurt almost every individual trucker who thought they could purchase an $80, 000 dollar tractor back then until they found out being deregulated did not mean everyone gets richer. (That is a problem with Ron Paul’s beliefs, but again, I feel he has it figured out how not to let everyone die because of it.)
Speak to the farmers back then. Reagan did what he could not to help the farmers. Sure, the loans were not going to be government backed anymore, just like Ron Paul would do, but Reagan also did things like this S.W.A.T. teaming the farmers over the sale of milk. Just because the S.W.A.T. teams were not out in force back then, the old time farmers were put out of business so big business was able to not only take over their farming, but their land also.
