Herman Cain loses key Iowa tea party backer
2012 Elections, Breaking News, Headlines Tuesday, July 5th, 2011By JUANA SUMMERS, Politico
Herman Cain on Tuesday announced replacements for some of the people who left his campaign in a wave of staff departures last week, but not before the turmoil cost the tea party favorite a key Iowa tea party supporter.
Charlie Gruschow, founder of the Des Moines tea party and an emphatic Cain supporter, submitted his resignation to the campaign on Sunday, he confirmed to POLITICO.
“I’m going to pursuse some other interests,” Gruschow said. “My heart just isn’t in it at this time.”
Gruschow’s departure follows the resignations of Iowa organizational director Tina Goff and New Hampshire director Matt Murphy, along with regional director Jim Zeiler and Iowa straw poll director Kevin Hall, who have already left the campaign in some disarray.
Gruschow was a direct line for Cain into the grassroots tea party base in the first-caucus state. He was the candidate’s first Iowa organizer, doing everything from picking the candidate up from the airport to planning meet-and-greet events. But even before resigning, Gruschow was conspicuously missing from campaign activity in recent weeks.

Please stop calling Cain a “TEA Party favorite”. He worked for the Federal Reserve, which makes him part of the problem, NOT part of the solution.
For a real TEA Party candidate, google Ron Paul.
I agree with you Texas Chris! I’ve been rethinking even being a part of the Tea Party since they’re supporting Herman Cain. If they REALLY believed in getting our country back, they’d be supporting Ron Paul. He’s the ONLY ONE who will bring the Constitution back.
Indeed, I certainly hope the members and so-called affiliates of the Tea Party movement make sure they check every candidates positions and especially their records of how they acted regarding such important issues as the Fed, bailouts, etc. before their support.
Actually, as a Tea Party advocate, I prefer a non-partisan stance and lean toward the ‘old’ with new replacements as often as possible. Ron Paul is a rare exception.
Texas,
If you are religious, then I say, “God bless you luv”. I have been saying the same thing for the last two years when Sarah Palin was up on that podium (somewhere) and claimed to be the Tea Party defacto leader because she saw that a leader was necessary and she was that one person. Remember that time? I think the people paid something like $600 a head to be there. Tea people with money like that to hear a fraud using the Tea Party name to get traffic? Whatever the numbers were, the point is made, Palin, Bachmann, Cain, and a few others claim to be the leaders and the media calls each one the Tea Party favorite. Shortly after that time with Palin, the takeover was in force of the attempt to have the great numbers of real tea party movement people swallowed up by the Republican Party.
Palin only endorsed Rand Paul so she could get a stronger foothold on the throat of the name of the Tea Party. If she were true to her endorsement, she would be endorsing the father of the movement, Ron Paul.
Bachmann right on stage when she was unofficially a candidate during that June 13th CNN “debate” claimed to be the leader of the Tea Party with Ron Paul right there. It was a slap in the face to him. To some degree, I blame him for that since he could have said something since after all, it was suppose to be a debate. Her legitimacy needed to be debated, CNN rules put aside.
Anyone who is a leader of a tea party section and does not mention along the line Ron Paul as being the father and inspiration for that movement, is obviously a fake, phony, fraud. It is also sad that the people are so naive that they fall for it. We get what we sow.
Of course if we were to try to tell the Ron Paul campaign to give a little shove to Ron Paul in claiming what is his, we cannot because the campaign refuses to have a way to contact them. I have attempted this for a month now sending out about 90 requests to everyone else involved with Ron Paul, including Rand Paul, since the June 5th Moneybomb after allowing them for a month since the May 5th Moneybomb to put that link up. No one responds which makes one wonder what is going on even with Ron Paul. His competitors will soon enough realize this since they all have ways to be contacted and if they bring the question up as to what they are hiding, that is not good. So the con game goes on.

Rhonda, Have you tried these numbers? Of course, there’s always Ron Paul Forums, where folks can help you get answers/info.
“The HQ Office phones are now operational; both the (800 number) and the (local number).
The fax number is .
Please note that due to the high volume of calls, campaign staff members will be unable to answer policy questions over the phone. For comments and questions, please consider emailing or writing the campaign at
After normal office hours 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (ET) all calls are sent to voicemail.”
Linda,
So thoughtful of you to come up and come out with that information. The answer to your question is pretty much answered in my post that was being held back that is now up. The rest of what you suggest is that when I have been saying that NOT ONE PERSON responded to me anywhere near as positive as you just did, I meant it. I could have missed something the first few attempts early in June, but after a week, it became a mission of mine. Two people sent me something personally back basically saying that it was interesting but of course since they were not directly involved with the campaign people, that meant nothing was going to get done. One person suggested about the forum out here, but when I asked if he was a person in charge there, I was not responded back to. Yes, I realize that no mail notices are sent out from here when anyone leaves a comment. So I went to his RonPaulForum and asked the same question from their contact page. Guess what….NO REPLY.
Then there are the closer people to Ron Paul such as Trevor Lyman who makes a statement such as yours in defense of Ron Paul to a magazine/newspaper and yet gives no details. When several attempts before and after that statement to him were done. Guess what….NO REPLY. Let us not leave out Ron Paul’s Congressional offices as well as Rand Paul’s Senate office. In short. Guess what…..NO REPLY.
You are not a standard person I see. You say something here that lets me know that you are closer to the campaign than just an outsider such as myself. So I thank you for finally coming out and offering what was being hidden from the public from the beginning. People here, our people, Ron Paul people, Tea Party people and maybe just any person, needs to see what you have posted for all of us. Please feel free, now that permission from within the campaign has been given, to give that out in your travels around the blogospher. Thank you.
Yours,
Rhonda
PS: In the mean time…ALL HAIL ADAM KOKESH for doing the actual pushing to get this done.
Attention. Attention please. At this time, I would like to give kookoos to Adam Kokash, the former Congressional runner last year, the man who was arrested for dancing in Washington, D.C. a few weeks ago, and who has his own daily show on RT.com at…….
http://rt.com/programs/adam-vs-man/
called, “Adam vs. The Man”
and his personal website at……
http://www.adamvstheman.com/
Yesterday I brought the matter of the lacking Ron Paul campaign contact link to his attention. Within hours he had contacted someone, maybe Ron Paul himself, and after everyday of my attempts on getting this corrected since the June 5th Ron Paul Moneybomb, it was taken care. KOODOOS TO ADAM KOKASH.
I recommend you visit him on RT.com (Russian Television). You can see his shows that he posts on his own website through YouTube, but going to see him at RT gives him credit standings. Presently his show is a half hour long and he would like it to be at least an hour long. RT is not about to make that time for him unless he gets visits and any man who would get something taken care of within hours when the supposed backers and closest supporters of Ron Paul absolutely refused to, deserves our backing as much as Ron Paul does. He truly is a man who is a patriot and will go out there and fight for all of our cause. If nothing else, we can take the time and make the effort to push a few computer keys for him. Thank you.
Yours,
Rhonda
Grrr,
While my original comment is awaiting approval (I guess because I have links on it), I did my usual dumb blonding. I spelled Adam KokEsh’s name as KokAsh, which is of course is wrong. So my KOODOOS GOES OUT TO ADAM KOKESH for being the activist that he was yesterday when he took care of the contact link on the Ron Paul 2012 dot com website that no Ron Paul associate would even acknowledge was so.
If for some reason the comment I just left that is being moderated does not appear, Adam’s activism warrants us going over to his on-line daily program he has on RT.com at 4pm PDT or 7pm EDT, his time, It is a half our show and going there will let RT know that his traffic warrants giving him an hour everyday, something he hopes to get. He has proven that he is willing to take action, not just by dancing in the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. to the point of being arrested last week or so, but also for all of us by getting in touch with the Ron Paul campaign to fix what we deserve to have. Of course his daily show indicates his patriotism constantly all through it also with the wonderful guests he has on (that can only stay a few mintues because of the show being short).
Yours,
Rhonda
Please, If I may;
There is never a Right or Wrong vote. Vote Your conscious otherwise you maybe inadvertently destroying something great. You never want to be on the losing side of a “what if everybody thought like me idea.” Vote who covers Your personal issues, in accordance with the Constitution, and let that be Your light
I am a Ron Paul Republican.
Ron Paul for 2012 Republican Nomination and President
Thank You
I heard Cain state that he & Bachman were the TEA Party candidates!
What a lyin sack!!! The TEA Party endorses a member of the Federal Reserve & a woman who sold her soul to the devil working as a prosecutor for the IRS for FIVE YEARS???
Comon people – WAKE UP!!!
Ron Paul started the TEA Party & is too modest to blow his horn like all these other blowhards, including Palin, who is insultingly stupid. The democrats are having a field day with all the loser candidates the Bilderburgers are pushing at us. They’re all afraid of Ron Paul, so they marginalize him as much as possible.
Just go look at the article about Romboid on gawker.com today. They don’t even mention Ron Paul & the fact that he raised the second highest amount of money from grassroots, not our elite masters, like Romboid.
Ausscyn,
That is disgusting about the Romboid thing. Leaving out and maginalizing Ron Paul is going to be rampant for the next frew months. Therefore it is up to us somehow to get around that. Four years ago he was not a name known. Today he is known and therefore it is rather easy to just ask the sheeple you talk to as to why they think he is being maginalized, if not omitted from the ranking credits.
Rhonda
Hey Texas Chris, I worked for the state of Montana, does that make me not a Tea Party patriot? Sorry, but you couldn’t be farther from the truth. We all best get our acts together behind one person or you know who will be back in there.
Stevee,
In defense of Texas and your own honor, I believe you were looking at mutliple things when you left your comment to him. Reading his comment and then reading yours, it has no connection to his. Actually, I cannot see where your comment is meant for anyone on this thread. Therefore you had to have other windows or thoughts on your mind at the time of leaving yours.
Rhonda
I will even join the Republican party, but it would be to vote for Ron Paul, not Mr. Cain. I love his enthusiasm, but being an ex member of one of the board of directors of a Federal Reserve bank makes him one of them, not one of us.
Jimmy James,
I might be wrong, but I think your statement about Herman Cain’s affiliation with the Federal Reserve needs to be upgraded. I understand that he was not just part of the board of directors, but the director of it. Of course we cannot say any of that because before long we will called racists for reasons I need not describe here at this time. I am sure that is also why he never mentions that high status job anywhere pertaining to his campaign….racism.
