Glenn Beck will keynote midwest tea party convention

By Ashok Selvam, Daily Herald

Glenn Beck may go off Fox airwaves on Thursday, but in October he’ll join fellow conservative pundits for the second-straight year in the Northwest suburbs.

The inaugural Midwest Tea Party Convention comes to Schaumburg for two days, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center. Organizers are billing the event as TeaCon 2011.

Andrew Breitbart and Steve Crowder will join Beck. Conservative talk radio station WIND 560-AM is organizing the event.

Beck and Breitbart appeared last year at the RightNation 2010 event held at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. The United Republican Fund hosts that event, and organizers are prepping for the 2011 edition just a month after the tea party convention.

The lineup for RightNation 2011, to held Nov. 3-5, again at the Sears Centre, could be released on Thursday. That event markets itself as catering to all GOP members and Libertarians, not just the tea party.

Beck’s last day as host of his Fox News Channel television show is Thursday. TeaCon organizers stressed their event will give Beck’s fans a chance to see and hear him, despite his show being off the air. His Oct. 1 speech should focus on the 2012 presidential election, TeaCon organizers said.

  1. This is discouraging as to how Glenn Beck and others like Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin have managed to so easily move in and take over the name of Tea Party and get treated as though it is the real people who started the tea party movement 4 years ago honoring Ron Paul. Glenn Beck recently interviewed Ron Paul twice in the past few weeks and both times you can see he was gritting his teeth in forcing himself to say that “he has seen the light” concerning Dr. Paul. For an actor to be seen so easily gritting his teeth, you know he is doing it to get traffic as well as maybe being ordered by FOX so they can get control of us. Not only that, I like how he says here that their “meeting” is going to also include Republicans and Libertarians, not just Tea Party people. What a change after saying on air that we all should be rounded up, Ron Paul included, and put into F.E.M.A. concentration camps. Goooo Republican Party (swindlers).

Michele Bachmann said while onstage with Ron Paul that she is the leader of the Tea Party. Talk about cutthroats?

Then there is Sarah Palin. How nice that she endorsed Rand Paul for the Senate seat. Guess whose darling organizational leader she got a better foothold on? Why the Tea Party, of course. Endorse the son of the movement’s father and of course you will be considered to be a true Tea Party person while also not giving credit to Ron Paul. She owes him to endorse him now for the presidential seat where most likely a true good position inside of that will be offered to her.

The people soak this up. For Glenn Beck he is now hoping that this will be his draw for his new pay-for internet, and cable I believe, show. He did this last year? He did this then to also grab them for this move aa well as the control he gained along the way. I contend he was quite aware that he knew the writing was on the wall for his move. He just had to take the time to make all the legal movements (no pun on the Tea Party movement–hehe). He is not in his position just by things happening at a whim. It is part of planning for the future….and the people swallow it up. They are the ones who really are the sick ones for being so gullible.
