It’s Rush Revere! Rush Limbaugh launches his own brand of (patriotic) iced tea

By FIONA ROBERTS, dailymail.co.uk

Now we know what devoted Tea Party members will be drinking at their summer barbecues.

Right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh today revealed he is launching his very own brand of iced tea.

Fed up of trying to fight the current ‘oppressive regime’ on the airwaves, the controversial presenter hopes he can take make his mark on America with a patriotic beverage instead.

Emblazoned with a picture of Limbaugh dressed in full colonial costume, ‘Two If By Tea’ takes its name from Longfellow’s famous poem, Paul Revere’s Last Ride, about the arrival of British troops during the War of Independence.

According to its website, the tea represents ‘traditional American values of capitalism and the pursuit of excellence’, and each bottle ‘is designed to rise above the sameness and mediocrity that threatens our great nation.’

Describing it as ‘kick butt’, he urged his listeners to go online and fork out $23.76 for a 12 pack.

  1. That’s “happiness”, Rush.. pursuit of *happiness*, as defined by the individual not some litmus of “excellence”. But then you do play to the nationalist crowd..

  2. You Mean NEOCON Supporter and lover of corporatism Rush Limburger. He is as far from what the tea party is supposed to be as Bachman and the other wannabees. These right wingers are totally nuts , just as nuts as the socialists. Ron Paul is the only true Tea Party Candidate and he and only he will be getting my vote.

    • Ray,

Well, you have to admit that Rush has the marketing mind. Someone else should have come up with the idea. Years ago it was his promotion of Snapple that made that company soar. He probably had a percentage in the business because the advertising he gave it went way beyond normal promoting.

I admire you noticing the Bachmann wannabee syndrome. Rush is getting on the bandwagon as much as she has in laying claim to the Tea Party movement name. She even has claimed that right in front of Ron Paul during their “debate” this past June 13th. Talk about nerve. Of course to me, though, that is partially Dr. Paul’s fault. He should have jumped on her immediately or even waited until he was giving one of his patriotic replies and threw in that he is the father of the organization and challenge her on laying such a claim or belittle those who are following her since if they were for real, they could not by the very definition of the grassroots organization be doing anything with her (or Sarah Palin for that matter). Good observation on your part.

Sarah Palin who is not running should follow through and endorse Ron Paul since she had endorsed Rand Paul for the senate run. Of course she used that to take a stronghold on the Tea Party name, but she is so “honest” that not following up by endorsing Ron Paul should belittle her character. If nothing else, she has in common with Ron Paul of being beaten down by the media consistently.

      Yours,
      Rhonda
